Part 1: What Are Relative Pronouns?
Relative pronouns connect a clause or phrase to a noun or pronoun. They provide additional
information about the noun without starting a new sentence.
Common Relative Pronouns:
- Who: Refers to people.
- Whom: Refers to people (formal).
- Whose: Shows possession.
- Which: Refers to things.
- That: Refers to people or things.
Examples:
- I met a man who loves traveling.
- The artist, whose paintings are famous, lives nearby.
- The book that you recommended was excellent.
- She saw a bird which was very colorful.

Activity 1: Fill in the Blanks
Choose the correct relative pronoun to complete the sentences.

Combine the sentences using the correct relative pronoun.

2. The park is beautiful. It has many flowers.
3. She is the teacher. Her lessons are always interesting.
4. This is the book. You lent it to me yesterday.
5. The city has many restaurants. It is famous for its food.
